Travel

Scheveningen is a coastal district of The Hague, easily accessible by air, train, and car. Once you arrive, local public transport, taxis, bicycles, and walking routes make it simple to reach competition venues and get around the area.

✈️ Travelling by Plane

The nearest major international airport is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), located about 60–70 minutes from Scheveningen by train or taxi.

From Schiphol Airport to The Hague / Scheveningen you can take a direct train to Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag HS (Holland Spoor). Trains depart frequently (every 10–15 minutes). From Den Haag Centraal or HS, you can continue to Scheveningen by public transport (see below).

Another convenient option is Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM), which is closer to the Hague than Schiphol/AMS and served by a range of European flights. From the airport a shuttle connection will bring you to Metro Line E. Metro Line E (RandstadRail) will bring you from Meijersplein / Airport directly to Den Haag Centraal.

🚆 Travelling by Train

The Dutch rail network is efficient, reliable, and well connected. From Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, or Antwerp/Brussels intercity’s or international train will go to Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag HS.

🚘 Travelling by Car

Scheveningen can be reached easily by car via the Dutch highway network.

  • From Amsterdam: Take the A4/E19 towards The Hague, then follow signs for Scheveningen via the A12 and N211.
  • From Rotterdam: Use the A13 and A4 north, then follow signs for Scheveningen

Parking: Scheveningen has multiple parking garages near the boulevard and pier areas. Note that on busy days, parking may fill quickly — it is advisable to use designated parking facilities and allow extra time.

From Hollands Spoor and Den Haag Centraal stations, you can use HTM’s tram 1,9,11, 12,17 and bus 22, which will take you to the beach within 15 minutes.
